Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson says he felt “nervous” when Michael Olise was about to take the penalty that earned the Eagles a 2-2 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Palace were 2-0 down at the Etihad Stadium but found their way back first through Jean-Philippe Mateta in the 76th minute and Olise’s penalty deep in added time.
Henderson was surprised by Olise’s penalty technique as it was different from what was practised in training, making the former Manchester United shot stopper nervous as he watched on from the other end of the pitch.

“I was nervous!,” Henderson told the club website. “He went the other way in training yesterday against me… so I’m happy he switched it up and sent [Ederson] the wrong way!”
The draw moved Palace to up 15th on the table, eighth points clear of the relegation zone.
