Galatasaray attacker Yunus Akgun has waxed lyrical about Victor Osimhen after he scored a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday night, Afrosport reports.
The Super Eagles forward scored twice in the first half, off assists from Alvaro Morata and Baris Yilmaz and completed his hat-trick in the 52nd minute with the assist from Akgun.
The three goals saw Osimhen move to the top of the Super Lig scorers chart with 20 goals in 22 games, and Akgun wants to see more from the 2023 African Player of the Year.
“Osimhen is a very important player for our team,“ he said. “He always gives his 100 percent on the field. We really love him. His energy is always very high. He is a great goal scorer. I hope he continues to score goals like this.”
Meanwhile, Osimhen praised the chemistry in the team which has helped them maintain their unbeaten in the Super Lig with 22 wins and five draws after 27 games.
“Our team is a team built on love and we are all brothers, not only on the field but also off the field,” the Napoli loanee said.
“Morata is also a very important and great player. We show mutual respect to each other. I think he can give me the ball in the same situation. He is a name that has proven himself with what he has done in football.
“In fact, all of my teammates are very valuable to me. We actually owe being a team at the highest level to this. We will try to continue in this way. We want to continue by building on this momentum.”
