Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola insisted he is proud of his team’s season despite losing the FA Cup final to rivals Manchester United on Saturday.
The Citizens lost 2-1 at Wembley which meant they were denied the chance to do back-to-back domestic doubles after defeating the Red Devils on their way to an historic treble in 2022-23.
It also meant that City finished 2023-24 only winning the Premier League which they did for a record fourth straight time and sixth time over overall under Guardiola.
“We talk and now we are sad, but we celebrate what an incredible achievement we have done and come back,” Guardiola told the club website.
“In football and in life you win and lose but like in the second half we never gave up.
“The feeling of course when you lose a final you are disappointed, but we celebrated this week the joy of the Premier League.
“We make 91 points because we have won a lot of points, in general really, really good.
“You have to be so proud and to celebrate what we have done.”
