Hellas Verona forward Gift Orban was on target in his side’s 2-2 draw with Napoli at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in the Serie A on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.
In the 27th minute, an aerial challenge resulted in Alessandro Buongiorno’s handball. Despite Napoli protests of a push, VAR confirmed a penalty for Verona.
Orban converted the spot-kick, sending the ball into the bottom corner past Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. He then mimed a throat-cutting gesture toward Napoli supporters, earning a yellow card for the celebration.

This penalty doubled Hellas Verona’s lead, following Martin Frese’s earlier back-heeled goal – his first in Serie A.
The Gialloblu went into halftime 2-0 up. Though Napoli later drew level through Scott McTominay and Giovanni Di Lorenzo , Orban’s penalty and subsequent booking remained the most notable moment of the match for the Nigerian forward.
