Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo has been ruled out for about two to three weeks with injury, La Liga club Real Valladolid confirmed.
Aidoo was forced out of Valladolid’s 7-1 loss to Athletic Club at San Mames on Sunday and was replaced by Swiss defender Eray Comert in the 65th minute.
The 29-year-old has suffered a hamstring injury in his right leg, and Valladolid confirmed that he will be out for a maximum of three weeks.
“Aidoo’s hamstring injury in his right leg has also been confirmed, which will keep him out of action for two to three weeks,” a statement on the club website read.
“The centre-back had to ask for a substitution in the second half of the match at San Mames.”
Aidoo ruptured the Achilles tendon in his left leg while on duty with the Ghana national team in October 2023. He missed a large part of the season and could not break back into the Celta Vigo team.
The defender secured a loan move to Valladolid in the January transfer window and has started their last three matches in the Spanish top flight.
