Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has signed a four-year contract that ties him to the Emirates Stadium until June 2029, Afrosport reports.
The 27-year-old Brazilian has committed his future the Gunners despite having two years left to run on his previous deal.
He has been a key cog in the Arsenal defence since he joined from Lille in 2020, and has made 210 competitive appearances, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists.
He featured 42 times last season, before a hamstring injury that required surgery in early April ended his campaign as the Gunners secured second place in the Premier League for the third consecutive season and reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 16 years.
“I arrived here as a young player and after almost five years I’m so happy and I’ve learned a lot,” Gabriel told Arsenal’s website.
“I’m so proud of myself, it’s an amazing journey, and I’m so happy to continue it. I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club and my family loves the club, too.
“Arsenal is an amazing club and I’m so proud to sign a new contract. I love this club, I love the supporters, my teammates, I love this stadium. I’m so proud and thank you for all the support. We continue together for the future.”
