The 2022-23 campaign stands out as Fulham’s most successful season since the takeover of Pakistani-American businessman and sports tycoon Shahid Khan in 2013.
A year after they secured promotion back to the Premier League, they have nailed a 10th-placed finish to cap their quarter-final in the FA Cup in March.
Best player: Joao Palhina
The Portuguese midfield enforcer has had a telling impact on the team and they never looked like the same team without him on he pitch. Signed for a fee of £17.3 million from Sporting Lisbon last summer, Palhina has justified why the West-London club made him their most expensive as he has brought leadership, experience and steel in the midfield.
The 27-year-old has made the most tackles in the league this season (144) with his nearest challenger Moises Caicedo making 45 lesser tackles (99).
Flop signing: Lavin Kurzawa
Having played only nine minutes of football for French giants Paris Saint Germain last season, the left fullback made a season-long loan move to England to redeem his career after coming third best in the competition for places with Juan Bernat and young Portuguese defender Nuno Mendes.
The Frenchman has not done much to change his fortunes as he has made just three appearances for the Cottagers in the Premier League this season.
Best Result: 2-1 home win against Chelsea
Marco Silva’s men claimed a famous 2-1 victory in a local derby against their more successful counterparts in a game that Willian, their former player got on the scoresheet for Fulham.
The victory against Chelsea was their first since 2006 and it made sure they were not beaten by the Blues this season after both sides played a goalless stalemate earlier in the campaign.
Worst result: 4-1 loss to Newcastle
The Cottagers put in a hapless display after Nathaniel Chaloboah was given his marching orders following a VAR check for thrusting his studs into Sean Longstaff’s ankle early on in the game.
The Tyneside club were rampant from then on as Miguel Almiron scored a brace while Callum Wilson and Longstaff got goals of their own. Bobby Reid’s consolation goal was the only positive memory they had in a rather miserable display.
Top scorer: Aleksandr Mitrovic
The Serbian hitman continues to be a handful for Premier League defenders to deal with. His 14 league goals have been instrumental to their succesful season while scored one more in the FA Cup to take his total tally of goals to 15 in all competitions.
