Former Denmark forward Nicki Bille Nielsen sentenced to prison for theft

A Danish court has handed former Denmark international Nicki Bille Nielsen a one month prison sentence for stealing from a supermarket and threatening the employees, Afrosport reports.

The 36-year-old was arrested after stealing a bottle of wine, a juice and instant soup from a supermarket, with his purchase totalling around 176 Danish crowns or 23.6 euros.

Bille Nielsen also threatened to hit the employees of the supermarket, stating : “I’m going to break your jaw so that you eat yogurt for six weeks.” The sentencing will reportedly keep him in prison until October 31

He was also tried for assaulting his former partner and for a confrontation with a police officer. This adds to numerous crimes which include been arrested for driving under the influence, issuing threats of violence, drug possession and assaulting a woman.

Bille Nielsen made three appearances for the Danish national team with spells at various European clubs including Villarreal, Nordsjaelland, Elche and Rayo Vallecano, as well as Rosenborg, where he scored 24 goals and provided 10 assists in 50 matches for the Norwegian side in the 2013-14 season.
