Jadon Sancho will return to Manchester United after the England international and Chelsea failed to reach an agreement on his contract to remain at Stamford Bridge, Afrosport reports.
Sancho, who joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, secured a season-long loan move to Chelsea last summer. The Blues did not pay a loan fee for the 25-year-old but opted to cover half of his reported £300,000-a-week wages.
United included an obligation to buy in Sancho’s loan move to Chelsea, which was worth £25 million and would come into effect if they finished higher than 14th in the Premier League.
The Blues finished fourth in the league but have now decided against signing the English forward, who reportedly failed to lower his weekly wages. Chelsea will now pay a £5 million fee to return Sancho to United, where he has a year remaining on his current contract.

Sancho was on target in Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final last Wednesday. He finished the season with five goals and 10 assists in 42 games across all competitions.
He is, however, expected to secure a move away from Old Trafford, with United deeming the winger surplus to requirements.
