F1: Alpine becomes final team to unveil 2023 car

Alpine are the final Formula 1 team to unveil their new car for the 2023 season.

The French manufacturer completes a busy week that saw McLaren, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Mercedes all pull the cover on their machines for the upcoming season.

Alpine have kept their accustomed blue livery, with pink continuing to feature heavily due to their sponsorship with Austrian water treatment company BWT.

The Enstone-based team finished a strong fourth in the constructors championship in 2022, beating McLaren by a close 14 points and will be looking to continue on its 100-race plan to win a world championship.

“We have to take a step closer to being able to win a championship, which is what we wanted to do in 100 races,” Team principal, Otmar Szafnauer said.

“That 100 started at the beginning of [2022], so it’s less than 80 from now on.

“We need to do the same, but we need to be closer to third than we are to fifth. So even if we stay fourth, we’ve got to make progress.”

Alpine will stick with Esteban Ocon for the fourth consecutive season but he will be partnered by Pierre Gasly in an all-French lineup after Fernando Alonso switched to Aston Martin.
