Eberechi Eze was the difference as Crystal Palace stunned Manchester City 1-0 to win their first-ever FA Cup title, Afrosport reports.
The Eagles were making it to their third cup final having lost the 1990 and 2016 editions to Manchester United.
Meanwhile, the Citizens were the obvious favourites and were reaching the FA Cup final for the third year in a row and attempted to win their third under manager Pep Guardiola.
The defining moment in the game came in the 16th minute when Daniel Munoz made a darting run down the flank and crossed the ball to Eze who exquisitely volleyed the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.
It was the second game Munoz assisted Eze having done so in the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday.
It was also the fifth consecutive competitive game the 26-year-old English winger of Nigerian heritage scored in, netting a total of six goals in that run.
Eze also scored in his third consecutive round in the FA Cup having done so in the 3-0 quarter-final and semi-final wins over Fulham and Aston Villa respectively.
Overall, he scored four goals in the FA Cup, including the only goal in the third round win over Stockport.
Man City had the chance to equalise from the penalty spot in the 36th minute but Egypt forward Omar Marmoush missed.
Munoz thought he had doubled the lead in the 58th minute but it was ruled out for offside by VAR.

The victory has earned Oliver Glasner’s side not only their first trophy as a top flight team but also a spot in next season’s Europa League, making it the first time ever the South London club have qualified for an European competition.
