Former Nigeria head coach Sunday Oliseh took to social media to hail Morocco’s performance in their 2-1 win over Brazil on Saturday.
Both sides faced off in a friendly in Tanger, with Sofiane Boufal and Abdelhamid Sabiri netting in either half while Manchester United midfielder Casemiro got on the scoresheet for the Selecao.
The victory continued Morocco’s impressive form since the 2022 World Cup where they broke an African and Arab record by reaching the semi-finals and ultimately finished fourth.
It also adds to the list of global heavyweights the North African giants have avoided defeat against in that time frame. It includes Croatia, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
Oliseh believes Morocco’s recent displays along with reigning African champions Senegal, will positively effect their economies.
“Simply Awesome. The concise “seriousness” Morocco, Senegal and some African nations are giving to their football development is not solely beautiful, but will economically bring a positive Tsunami like effect for them. Allez en avant, L’Afrique !!,” Oliseh said in a Twitter post.
