‘Everybody has a bump’ – Arteta backs Man City despite poor form

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has defended his rivals Manchester City following their drop in form of late, Afrosport reports.

The reigning Premier League champions have been winless in the past six games in all competitions. The Citizens were left biting their nails after surrending a 3-0 lead at home against Feyenoord on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League which came after an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday.

Arteta feels that City are going through a difficult stage which they will overcome. He also added that it is strange they are because they have never experienced such lately

“What I have made of it is what they have done for nine years”, Arteta told reporters. “That’s what people have to talk about how difficult it is for them to do what they’ve done for nine years consistently.

“A bump, everybody has a bump. For them, it is very strange because for nine years they have never had it. It tells you the level and the environment that we are in, everything has to be almost perfect performance and ability has to be perfect and things have to go your way. It is so hard to win.”

Man City will be travelling to Anfield where they will go toe to toe with league leaders Liverpool as they are currently second in the league standings, eight points behind.
