Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka have been named in the final 26-man England squad for the Euro 2024 championship.

Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate had initially released a 33-man provisional squad ahead of their warm up friendlies but has now trimmed it to 26 players, with the duo of Nigerian heritage making the cut.

This will be the first-ever international tournament for Eze who earned his first England cap during the Euro 2024 qualifiers last June and has added two more since then.

For Saka, this will be his second Euros tournament after featuring in the previous one in 2021 where he famously lost a penalty in the shootout against Italy in the final at Wembley that England lost.

Eze’s Crystal Palace teammate Adam Wharton made the cut likewise Manchester United sensation Kobbie Mainoo, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa and injured left-back Luke Shaw.

The seven players that were left out are: Jarell Quansah, Curtis Jones, Jarrad Branthwaite, Jack Grealish, James Maddison, Harry Maguire and James Trafford.

England will play their final warm up friendly against Iceland on Friday before their Euro Group C opener against Serbia on June 16th.
