Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo who had lost a penalty in extra time, converted his team’s first kick during the shootout, Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva then went ahead to convert theirs.
The victory sets up a mouthwatering quarter-final clash with Portugal who were champions in 2016 when they defeated Les Bleus in the final in Paris.
