Euro 2024: Cristiano Ronaldo set for record-setting sixth tournament

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo will set yet another record when he plays for Portugal at the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

The 39-year-old Al-Nassr forward is set to compete in a record sixth European Championship after being named in Roberto Martinez’s 26-man squad announced on Tuesday.

Ronaldo first competed at the Euros in 2004 as a 19-year-old teenager when Portugal last hosted the tournament and were beaten finalists in a 1-0 loss to Greece.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid man is joined on the list by other names like United midfielder and captain Bruno Fernandes, Manchester City duo Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias, FC Porto defender Pepe, and AC Milan forward Rafael Leao.

Portugal are drawn in Group F alongside the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Georgia, and they will kick off their hunt for a second European title against the Czech on June 18.
