Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo is pleased with his side’s continuous improvement after recording a massive 1-0 win over reigning Premier League champions Manchester City at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon, Afrosport reports.
Callum Hudson-Odoi’s 83rd minute winner moved Forest four points clear of City in third, further solidifying their quest for Champions League football next season.
Forest are also three points behind second-placed Arsenal and Espirito Santo believes there is still more his team can improve on.
“I think the the improvement of the squad, the improvement of the players, the ability to realise that we can compete against every team,” the Sao Tome and Principe-born tactician said.
“Compete, it doesn’t matter the result. It is how we prepare to compete, knowing our strengths, our weakness and knowing who we have in front of you. Every game is different. It shows the progress and the ability to keep competing, competing, competing game after game.
“And this is what we want for ourselves to be able to improve every game, it’s a landmark of improvement. Because now we’re going to look at the game, there were so many mistakes, but at the end was good. But still things improve, of course.”
