Osayi-Samuel: How Nigerian fullback reached new Fenerbahce milestone

Youssef En-Nesyri was on the scoresheet once again as Sevilla defeated Real Sociedad 3-2 at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in La Liga on Saturday.

The Andalusian outfit lost 1-0 at Real Madrid last time out and needed to get a victory against Sociedad to further strengthen their survival hopes.

En-Nesyri gave them the needed lead with a brace in the 11th and 13th minute to take his La Liga tally to nine goals this season. It is the second highest league tally of his career after scoring nine goals while at Leganes during the 2018-19 season.

His best tally however remains the 2020-21 season when he struck 18 times in the league. Overall, the Moroccan has scored 13 goals in all competitions.

En-Nesyri also has a knack for scoring goals against Real Sociedad with Saturday’s brace taking him to nine goals in 13 matches, making the Basque giants the opponent he has scored the most league goals against.

Sergio Ramos scored Sevilla’s third goal while Andre Silva and Brais Mendez scored for Sociedad.

The victory moved Sevilla up to 14th place on the table, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
