Youssef En-Nesyri was at his goalscoring best again but it was not enough for a win as Sevilla lost 3-2 at Villarreal in Saturday’s La Liga action.
The Moroccan put the Andalusians ahead in the 26th minute before Alexander Sorloth levelled for the Yellow Submarines four minutes later.
En-Nesyri made it 2-1 with a fine header before the half time break but Villarreal came back towards the end of the game thanks to Yerson Mosquera and Sorloth completing his brace in the added time.
En-Nesyri’s brace took him to 50 league goals for Sevilla and saw him join an elite list of goalscorers to reach or surpass that mark in 21st century for the club namely: Frederic Kanoute (89 goals), Luis Fabiano (72 goals) and Alvaro Negredo (70 goals).
