Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has signed a new two-year contract with Liverpool, Afrosport reports.
Salah, whose previous deal was set to expire in the summer, ends any speculation about his future with reports of a possible move to Saudi Arabia on the cards for the forward.
The 32-year-old joined the Reds in 2017 from Serie A club Roma and has since torn up the Premier League with numerous otherworldly performances, scoring 184 of his 243 Liverpool goals in the English top-flight division.
“Of course, I’m very excited – we have a great team now,” said Salah, who has 111 assists in 394 appearances for Liverpool. “Before we also had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.
“I have played eight years here, hopefully it’s going to be 10. I’m enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I have had the best years of my career here.
“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together.
“Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies.”
