Cyriel Dessers says he is aiming to score more goals after reaching his 20th in all competitions this season in Rangers’ 2-1 Scottish Premiership win at St. Mirren on Sunday afternoon.
St. Mirren’s James Bolton gave the Gers the lead in the 32nd minute after putting the ball into his own net.
The home team managed to equalise five minutes later through Mikael Mandron before Dessers found the winner via a powerful header from a James Tavernier cross in the 74th minute for his 14th Premiership goal.
“20 goals is a beautiful number, but I don’t want to stop there – I want to keep going and I want more,” the Nigerian told Rangers’ website.
“Not a lot of Rangers strikers got there in the last years so I think it is a nice milestone for me.
“To score a winner in a game like that feels good. There is no room for errors now so we are very happy we got the win.
“It is not new for Tav – not only this season but also in his whole career, he has give many assists like this, but it was an unbelievable cross which the goalkeeper misread and I was there to make the goal.”

Speaking on Dessers, Rangers boss Philippe Clement said: “Cyriel keeps digging in and keeps fighting for the team. He works really hard and then the moments come, that’s what we tell him all the time and that’s what he’s proving now in these last couple of months when he is scoring a lot of goals and when he becomes more and more important for the club.”
Rangers are four points behind rivals and leaders Celtic in the championship round win four more games left to end the season.
