The stage is set for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, a new format slated to be held in the United States next year following Thursday’s draw conducted in Miami, Florida.
The group stage of the new 32-team Club World Cup will serve up some exciting fixtures with eight groups of four teams each, with the tournament to be played across 12 stadiums.
Premier League champions Manchester City, who are also the competition’s reigning champions, will face Italian giants Juventus, Moroccan side Wydad AC, and Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates in Group G.
High-flying Chelsea, winners of the 2022 edition, are drawn in Group D alongside Brazil’s Flamengo, Club Leon of Mexico, and Esperance Tunis.
15-time European champions Real Madrid, record winners of the Club World Cup with five titles, are in Group H, where they will battle Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal, as well as Pachuca and Austria’s RB Salzburg.
German club Bayern Munich will tackle Auckland City, Boca Juniors, and Benfica in Group C, while Group B serves up the biggest battles with Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, Seattle Sounders, and newly-crowned Copa Libertadores champions Botafogo.
Inter Miami, whose inclusion in the competition raised many eyebrows, are in Group A and will face Egyptian heavyweight Al Ahly, FC Porto, and Palmeiras.
