Nigeria’s sole representative in CAF Confederation Cup, Rivers United have been drawn in Group C of the continental tournament on Friday.
The Pride of Rivers will challenge Tunisia’s Club Africain, Ghanaian outfit Dreams FC and Angola’s APC Lobito for supremacy and qualification to the next round.
Rivers United defeated Burkina Faso’s Etoile Filante 2-0 in Port Harcourt last weekend after a goalless draw in the first-leg.
Group A houses current champions USM Alger of Algeria, Libya’s Al Hilal, South Africa’s SuperSport United and Future FC of Egypt while former champions Zamalek of Egypt are up against Angola’s Sagrada Esperanca, Guinea’s SOAR and Libya’s Abu Salim in Group B.
Moroccan giants RS Berkane, Congo’s DC Motema Pembe, Mali’s Stade Malien and South Africa’s Sekhukhune United complete the Group D set-up.
The group stage action will start on November 26 and selected intriguing matches will shown LIVE on Afrosport TV.
