Guinean forward Serhou Guirassy was back among the goals for VfB Stuttgart as they sealed a 2-1 comeback win over Borussia Dortmund.
The 27-year-old has missed his side’s last three games, but he came on in the 67th minute and converted a penalty kick twenty-six minutes later to score the match winner for Die Roten.

Playing at home at the MHPArena, Stuttgart started off on the front foot and should have broken the deadlock in the 11th minute, but Chris Fuhrich fumbled the chance as he missed from the penalty spot.
They were made to rue their missed opportunity 25 minutes later as German forward Niclas Fullkrug put the away side ahead with a tap-in in the back post from Julian Ryerson’s low cross.
Turkish striker Deniz Undav drew Stuttgart level in the 42nd minute with a well-struck left-footed finish. After winger Jamie Leweling beat the offside trap, he played in Undav, who placed the ball out of the reach of Swiss goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, for his fifth goal in the Bundesliga this season.
Guirassy then sealed his side’s comeback in the 83rd minute with a spotkick, placing the ball into the far left corner after Kobel brought down Congolese winger Silas Mvumpa.
The strike took the Guinean international’s season tally to 16 goals, including 15 in the Bundesliga, where he’s only bettered by Bayern Munich and England’s leading marksman Harry Kane (17).
The victory ended Stuttgart’s five-game winless run against Dortmund and sealed their first home victory over their rivals side since November 2017, when they won by the same scoreline.
Stuttgart remain third in the league standings with 24 points after eleven games, three points above Dortmund in fourth. They will welcome Eintracht Frankfurt next after the international break at the Deutsche Bank Park, while BVB will welcome Monchengladbach to the Signal Iduna Park for a Borussia derby.
