Brentford have completed the permanent signing of Kevin Schade from Freiburg for reported club-record fee of £22 million.
The 21-year-old German-Nigerian winger joined the Bees on loan from Freiburg for the 2022-23 season and made 18 Premier League appearances, providing one assist as Brentford finished an impressive ninth after just two seasons of top-flight football.
Schade has now put pen to paper a five-year contract at the Gtech Community Stadium until 2028. Club director of footballer Phil Giles is happy with what Schade’s performances so far and is looking forward to seeing further improvement from the player.
“We have all been pleased with Kevin’s contribution so far, both on the pitch and his professionalism off it, so to have him with us now until 2028 is fantastic for the club,” Giles said in a club statement.
“We all hope both Kevin and Brentford can make further progress from here and look forward to the challenge.”

Schade has been called up to the Germany U-21 team for the 2023 U-21 European Championships starting on June 21 in Georgia and Romania.
He has been capped twice by the Germany senior national team, playing in two friendlies against Peru and Belgium in March.
