Brentford manager Thomas Frank is pleased to have Frank Onyeka and Yoane Wissa back after their month-long participation at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria and DR Congo respectively.
Onyeka was part of the Super Eagles side that reached the final but lost to hosts Ivory Coast while Wissa was part of the Leopards side that finished fourth.
Frank stressed on the importance of having the duo back in the team and commended them for their efforts during AFCON.
“They’ve been important and good for us, so it’s good to have them in training. They’ve come back with energy having had, in many, many ways, fantastic experiences,” Frank said ahead of the Bees’ Premier League meeting with Liverpool on Saturday.
“Unfortunately, they finished second and fourth rather than first and third, but we are very proud of them and what they achieved.”

Brentford currently occupy 14th spot on the table but are just six points shy of the relegation zone and have an outstanding game against reigning champions Manchester City to come in midweek.
