Berrada sticks with 2028 target of Man United winning Premier League

Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada is sticking with the target of winning the Premier League in 2028, which marks the 150th anniversary of the club’s illustrious history, Afrosport reports.

The Red Devils are coming off their worst season since 1974 after finishing a lowly 15th on the table with just 42 points.

They also lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur, meaning they will not participate in European competition next season for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign.

Regardless of the poor record, Berrada believes United, along with its women’s team, can do a league double in three years.

“It’s establishing a series of targets within a timeframe so we can focus our efforts and energy on that goal,” he said in an interview with United We Stand.

“Can the team win the Premier League title by 2028? Of course.

“We’ve just finished 15th and it seems an impossible task. But why not aim for it? Why not do everything in our power?

“I firmly believe we can do it. We have two or three summer windows to build a team to start competing to win the Premier League.”

Berrada, of Moroccan heritage, was previously the Chief Football Operations Officer at Manchester City from 2011 to 2024.
