Athletics: Red-hot Tebogo wins men’s 200m race in Silesia Diamond League

Paris 2024: Tebogo, Fahnbulleh & two others to represent Africa in men’s 200m final

Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo has not put a foot wrong since winning a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics as the Motswana won the men’s 200m race at the Silesia Diamond League in Poland on Sunday.

The 21-year-old sprinter ran a blistering time of 19.83 seconds to set a new meeting record in Silesia despite having to recover from a poor start to the race.

Tebogo finished ahead of Dominican Republic’s Alex Ogando, who clocked a time of 19.86s, to finish second, and American Olympic silver medallist Kenny Bednarek in 20.00s. Meanwhile, Erriyon Knighton of the United States finished fourth in 20.07s.

His triumph in Poland makes it back-to-back Diamond League wins for the Olympic gold medallist following his triumph in Lausanne, Switzerland, last Thursday, where he clocked a time of 19.64s.
