The Athletics Federation of Nigeria has confirmed the participation of world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan at the 2023 African Games.
Nigeria’s athletics body disclosed that 49 athletes including Amusan will fly the country’s flag in 25 athletics events.
Other athletes that made the cut include women’s long jump stars Ese Brume and Ruth Usoro, Nigeria’s fastest man Usheoritse Itsekiri, David Akintola and Seye Ogunlewe.
The athletics delegation will be led by the President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Chief Tonobok Okowa alongside 12 coaches of the various events.
