Elias Achouri scored twice as Tunisia kicked off their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 3-1 victory over Uganda, maintaining a perfect record against the Cranes in six encounters, Afrosport reports.
Following a disappointing group stage exit in the 2023 edition in Ivory Coast, Tunisia quickly took control, with Ellyes Skhiri opening the scoring from a corner in the 10th minute. Achouri doubled the lead with a first-time volley in the 40th minute.
In the second half, Tunisia reasserted themselves after 64 minutes when Achouri tapped in a rebound for his second goal.

Uganda struggled to pose a serious threat, and although Denis Omedi scored a deflected consolation goal in stoppage time, the match ended with Tunisia firmly in control, placing them at the top of Group C, while Uganda remained at the bottom after failing to score in three of their last 11 matches.
