Victor Osimhen will once again start from the bench as the Super Eagles face Rwanda in the second round of fixtures of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Kigali on Tuesday afternoon, Afrosport reports.
The Galatasaray forward came off the bench to score as Nigeria recorded a 3-0 win over Benin in their first game in Uyo.
Interim Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen stuck with virtually the same XI that started against the Cheetahs with the only exception being Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi being dropped to the bench with Hatayspor midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru taking his place.
The other positions remain unchanged with Stanley Nwabali starting with goal while the defence remains the quartet of Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, William Troost-Ekong and Clavin Bassey.
Dele-Bashiru will be flanked in the middle of the park alongside Wilfred Ndidi and Bruno Onyemaechi while the attack remains Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface flanked by 2024 Ballon d’Or nominee Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze, with Osimhen expected to come on and hopefully make a statement.
