Ahead of Nigeria’s second match in Group D of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, interim coach Augustine Eguavoen has downplayed the need for a “complicated game plan”.

The former Nigeria international, who led the Super Eagles to a resounding 3-0 win over Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday, spoke to the media in Kigali ahead of their clash against Rwanda.

Eguavoen, in his fifth stint with the Eagles, says he isn’t worry about planning rigorously for the game as he’s eyes are only set on claiming all available points.

“There is no game plan. The plan is the three points,” the 59-year-old said while talking to the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) media.

“We have quality players who can play different styles of football, in different formation and different systems. So whatever formation or system that Rwanda comes up with tomorrow, we have the personnel to deal with it,” he added.

The Super Eagles player and staff arrived in Kigali, Rwanda on Sunday and underwent their first training session on Monday as they ramp up preparations for the crucial encounter against the Amavubi.

Nigeria will battle Rwanda at the Amahoro National Stadium in Kigali on Tuesday, September 10, at 2 p.m. West African Time knowing that a win takes them to six points and improves their chances of securing a berth in next year’s tournament tagged Morocco 2025.
