Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong was crowned as the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Man of the Competition after leading the Super Eagles to the silver medal following the 2-1 loss to hosts Ivory Coast in Sunday’s final.
The POAK FC Defender finished as the Nigeria’s joint-highest scorer with Ademola Lookman and the highest scoring defender in the tournament with three goals including the final.

Simon Adingra was awarded as the tournament’s best Young Player with his two assists in the final leading the Elephants to ultimate glory.
The Best goalkeeper awarded went to South Africa’s Ronwen Williams while the Golden boot went to Equatorial Guinea’s Emilio Nsue who netted five goals followed by Angola’s Gelson Dala and Egypt’s Mostafa Mohamed taking the silver boot and bronze boot respectively for netting four goals apiece.
