Ahead of Nigeria’s two-legged Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against Guinea-Bissau, coach Jose Peseiro and captain Ahmed Musa have assured Nigerians of their readiness to deliver victory on Friday.
In a pre-match conference held in Abuja, Musa said, “We know what happened a year ago here against Ghana. That is behind us now. This is the AFCON qualifier and we want to make the fans happy,”
He said: “We know the hardship that is currently going on in the country and football is the only thing that unites Nigerians. We want to make them happy.”
Also, head coach, Jose Peseiro emphasized on the importance of the game later on Friday, he said,” We all know the importance of the game, so, we are not taking it that easy because we know the opponent, we played them at the AFCON; they are a very difficult team and we are not going to take it easy against them.
“We are playing at home, we don’t have to lose that game, so In sha Allah we are going all out tomorrow to win the game so that we can have e more step forward to the AFCON.”
Nigeria will host Guinea Bissau by 5 pm today at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, a win against the Djurtus will seal qualification with three games to spear for the three-time AFCON champions.
