AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Algeria players visit orphanage before Uganda game

Algeria players took a break from their preparations for this weekend’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers to visit an orphanage home in the country’s capital, Algiers.

After intense preparations in the national team camp situated in Sidi Moussa (FAF National Technical Centre), Djamel Belmadi’s men arrived at Kafel El-Yateem Orphanage on Friday, bearing gifts for children in the facility.

Coach Belmadi and the team including striker Baghdad Bounedjah, Houssem Aouar and Said Benrahma were present to sign autographs and receive bouquets of flowers from their hosts.

The Desert Foxes are scheduled to travel to Cameroon this weekend, where they will face Uganda in a Group F game at the Japoma Stadium on Sunday.

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations champions have all but qualified for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast, with eight points ahead of second-placed Tanzania with two matches to go.
