The Group F opening match between Morocco and 2018 World Cup finalist Croatia ended in a frustrating goalless draw on Wednesday morning.
The tightly contested match saw a handful of chances fall for both sides within 90 minutes but none was converted.
Croatia star Nikola Vlasic came closest to opening the scoring on the brink of half-time, forcing a brilliant last-gasp save from goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
On the other end, Dinamo Zagreb’s Dominik Livakovic denied Achraf Hakimi’s long-range strike to keep both sides on level terms.
The draw stretched the struggle for African representatives in Qatar, as they are yet to register a goal with Senegal losing their game while Tunisia settled for a draw against Denmark on Tuesday.
Next up for Morocco is a group outing against Belgium at the Al Thumama Stadium while Croatia will battle it out against Canada at the Khalifa International Stadium on Sunday.
