Bayer Leverkusen sign Lois Bade from Sevilla

Douglas Luiz completes loan move from Juventus to Nottingham Forest

Bayer Leverkusen have signed Loic Bade from Sevilla on a five-year contract worth €25 million, Afrosport reports.

The 25-year-old Frenchman, who is of Ivorian heritage, started his career at Le Havre and also had a short loan spell at Nottingham Forest before spending two and a half seasons in Spain with Sevilla, making 93 competitive appearances and winning the Europa League in 2023.

The German Bundesliga outfit have lost a considerable number of players this summer, such as Jonathan Tah, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Granit Xhaka.

They have however strengthened under new head coach Erik ten Hag, signing the likes of Malik Tillman, Jarell Quansah and Mark Flekken, with Bade becoming their 14th signing.

“In Loic Bade we have signed a young but very experienced central defender. He’s used to playing against absolutely world-class strikers in LaLiga in Spain,” Leverkusen managing director sport Simon Rolfes stated.

“Loic is physically uncompromising and can read the game, an absolute addition to strengthening our defence. We are competitive at the highest level with this defence.”

Leverkusen will begin the 2025-26 Bundesliga campaign against Hoffenheim at BayArena on Saturday afternoon.
