Inigo Martinez joins Al-Nassr after mutual termination of Barcelona contract

Man City midfielder Reijnders ready to play any position following Rodri injury

Inigo Martinez has joined Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr after agreeing to mutual termination of his contract at Barcelona, Afrosport reports.

The 34-year-old Spanish defender still had one more year left on his Barcelona contract and opted not to renew it but rather signed a one-year deal with Al-Nassr with the option of a further year.

Martinez is the second big signing for the Riyadh outfit this summer after Joao Felix from Chelsea.

“Al Nassr club company officially signed a contract with the Spanish star Inigo Martinez as a free agent,” the club said in a statement.

“Inigo’s contract will be valid until 2026.”

Martinez made a total of 71 appearances for Barcelona, having joined from Athletic Bilbao, where he spent five years, in 2023.

He was also previously on the books of Real Sociedad between 2011 and 2018.
