Nigeria’s D’Tigress will face Cameroon in the quarter-finals at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, Afrosports reports.
Rena Wakama’s side secured top spot in Group D and are now set to battle the East Africans on Thursday at the Palais des Sports de Treichville, with a place in the semi-finals at stake.
Cameroon, who finished second in Group B, had to go through the play-offs to reach the last eight. They cruised past Angola with a commanding 85–64 victory on Wednesday to book a quarter-final berth.
Dominant from tip-off, Cameroon took a 12-point lead into half-time (44–32) and never looked back, outscoring Angola 41–32 in the final two quarters to seal a 21-point win.

Four of Cameroon’s five starters finished in double figures, and Jessica Thomas led the charge with 19 points and five assists. Marguerite Effa chipped in with 14 points, Joelly Beleka poured in 13 points and a game-high eight assists, while Dulcy Fankam finished with 13 points.
For Angola, only two players reached double digits: Sara Caetano posted 19 points and a game-high seven rebounds, while Italee Lucas recorded 14 points and seven assists.
The quarter-final clash between the D’Tigress, who are chasing a fifth consecutive title, and Cameroon is scheduled to tip off at 9 p.m. local time (10 p.m. Nigerian time).
Elsewhere, Mozambique, South Sudan, and record-winners Senegal also advanced to the quarter-finals following play-off wins.
Mozambique swept past Guinea 91–38 and will now face Group B winners Mali. South Sudan edged Egypt 75–65 to set up a clash with Uganda, while Senegal dismantled Rwanda 80–37 to book a date with hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the next round.
