Veteran guard Chris Paul is heading back to the Los Angeles Clippers, having agreed to a deal with the team ahead of his 21st NBA season, Afrosport reports.
The 40-year-old, whose family is based in Los Angeles, has made no secret of his desire to stay close to home at this stage of his career. He has agreed a one-year deal worth $3.6 million, marking a second stint with the Clippers, as he prepares for what could be his final NBA season.

Paul becomes the latest high-profile signing for the Clippers, joining guard Bradley Beal, forward John Collins and center Brook Lopez as the team builds towards the new season.
The 12-time All-Star returns to the Clippers after eight years, having previously spent six seasons with the team from 2011–2017. During that time, he made five All-Star appearances and was named to five All-NBA teams.

Last season, Paul suited up for the San Antonio Spurs, appearing in all 82 games—an NBA first for any player in their 20th season or later. He averaged 8.8 points, 7.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, and became one of only three players in history to feature in every regular season game at the age of 39.
Drafted fourth overall in 2005 by the New Orleans Pelicans, Paul ranks second all-time in both assists (12,499) and steals (2,717) across a career that has also seen him suit up for the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors.
