FIFACWC: Filipe Luis delighted with Flamengo’s group stage performance

Filipe Luis has expressed his delight with Flamengo’s performance in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Afrosport reports.

The Rio de Janeiro outfit played out a 1-1 draw with Los Angeles FC on Tuesday to finish top of Group D unbeaten after recording wins over Tunisian heavyweights Esperance and Premier League side Chelsea.

Reflecting on their time so far in the United States, head coach Luis said: “We had a great group stage

“We achieved our objective early, so we’ve been able to bench players with yellow cards and give minutes to players that hadn’t played yet.

“We had rhythm, and we had chances to score. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen. We are very happy, no injuries and a great group stage, and now we’re thinking about Bayern and nothing but Bayern.”

Flamengo will next battle Bayern Munich in the round of 16 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
