NPFL: Nasarawa United appoint Salisu Yusuf as new technical director

Nasarawa United have appointed former Super Eagles assistant coach Salisu Yusuf as their new technical director following the sacking of Kabiru Dogo, Afrosport reports.

The Lafia-based club parted ways with Dogo following a run of poor results, including Saturday’s goalless draw at home to Ikorodu City.

“We want to specially thank Coach Kabir Dogo who has taken our Club and members as a family for his commitment and hard work during his time with us. Unfortunately, results have not gone in our favour, and we feel it is in the best interest of the Club to move forward with a new direction,” the club said in a statement.

“Due to the precarious situation of the Club, we have decided to appoint former Chief Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Salisu Yusuf, as the new replacement for the departing Coach Kabir Dogo, to take charge of the team immediately.”

The Solid Miners have won two of their last eight league games and occupy the 18th spot in the NPFL standings with 26 points from 24 matches.

Meanwhile, Yusuf returns to Nasarawa United, where he began his managerial career in 2002.

He will be in the dugout when the Solid Miners visit the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium to take on Bayelsa United on Wednesday.
