CAF reveals venue and time for AFCON 2025 draw ceremony

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday announced the venue and time for the much-anticipated draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to be held in Morocco, Afrosport reports.

CAF revealed that the prestigious Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat will host the AFCON 2025 final draw, with the ceremony slated to kick off at 7pm local time (7pm Nigerian Time) on Monday, 27 January.

All qualified teams will get to know their group opponents, with the 24 countries to be drawn in six groups of four teams each for the AFCON 2025 finals.

Leading figures in African football, as well as heads of federations, international media, and sports legends, are expected to grace the event as the countdown to the 35th edition of the continental showpiece gets underway.

Football fans around the world will be able to follow the Final Draw live on CAF’s official social media platforms and partner broadcasters.

Ivory Coast are the defending African champions following a 2-1 win against Nigeria in the AFCON 2023 final at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe.

This year’s tournament in Morocco is scheduled to take place from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
