Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun has completed a transfer to National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) outfit Washington Spirit, Afrosport reports.
Abiodun joins Washington Spirit from Pittsburgh Panthers on a three-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.
Abiodun bid the Pittsburgh Panthers fans farewell on Monday and was thrilled with the new phase her career is presenting as she also highlights Washington’s zeal to develop players.
“I’m beyond thrilled to take this next step in my career by joining Washington Spirit,” she was quoted on the Panthers website.
“This isn’t just a dream; it’s a purpose I’ve poured my heart and soul into and I’m ready to give everything I have to the game I love.
“Especially with a team that cares about its players’ growth and development, which makes Washington Spirit a perfect team for me to achieve my purpose.”

Deborah Abiodun was part of the Super Falcons squad at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
