Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has revealed that his team is working to fix their problem with conceding set pieces, Afrosport reports.
The Red Devils have had a reputation of letting opponents score via set pieces especially corner kicks, an occurrence that happened in Sunday’s heavy 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth in the Premier League.
It was the 17th occasion they conceded from set pieces (bar penalties) in 2024, making it their highest tally in a calender year in the top flight.
When asked if it was a concern, Amorim said: “All the areas are of concern, especially of course set-pieces. We are training on that, we have to improve. There’s a lot of teams that are really strong on that, so we are working on it a lot of the time.”

The defeat at Bournemouth left United rooted in 13th place meaning they would be in the bottom half of the log going into Christmas for first time since 1989.
On what needs to be done to improve the club’s fortunes, Amorim stated: “We just need to work on the way we play, that’s all. Focus on the job in the moment, not what you feel in the stadium.
“Just focus on the job you have to do when the ball is in one place, is in another place. It’s the only way I know how to help my players, is to focus on the job, just that.”
He added: “It’s so much easier to pass on an idea when you’re winning and you’re scoring and you’re not conceding. But it’s also a great privilege to be here, so we have to continue now.
“Nothing bad lasts forever and nothing good lasts forever, so we have to continue again and be very strong in our ideas, especially in the bad moments. We will do it and try to win the next game.”
Man United will next face Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux on Boxing Day.
