Nigeria’s Super Falcons will play either Benin Republic or Sierra Leone in a bid to qualify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Afrosport reports.
The draw for the 2026 WAFCON qualifiers was conducted in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday, as 38 countries entered preliminaries for the tournament.
The Super Falcons, one of the six highest-ranked countries, joined South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast, in receiving a bye to the second round of the qualifiers.
The respective nations will face off by playing two rounds of home and away matches to decide the 11 teams that will progress to the WAFCON 2026 finals, joining Morocco, who will be hosting the tournament for a third consecutive edition.
The first round of qualifiers is schedule for February next year, while the second round will take place in October 2025.
Both Benin Republic and Sierra Leone will lock horns in the first round, with the winner set for a cruch test against the Super Falcons.

The Condederation of Africa (CAF), hoeever, has yet to announce the dates the 2026 WAFCON.
Meanwhile, the 2024 WAFCON finals, which will be played next year in Morocco, is scheduled to run from 5-26 July 2025.
