Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou claims his team is “progressing in all aspects of the game” despite mixed displays this season, Afrosport reports.
Spurs looked like they were in for business after their 4-0 thrashing of league champions Manchester City late last month.
They however struggled against Roma in the Europa League and also could not grind out a win against Fulham on Sunday at home where the fixture ended in a 1-1 draw.
Postecoglou seems not to be troubled about his side’s inconsistency as he also defended his attacking style saying he was “not interested” in pragmatism which was after the 2-2 draw against Roma.
“We’re progressing in all our aspects of our game,” he said ahead of Spurs’ visit to Bournemouth per Flashscore.com.
“We’ve scored a lot of goals but even defensively, we’re much more consistent than we were last year.”
The Australian seems to be battling with injuries with seven of his players currently on the sidelines excluding Bentancur who is currently suspended.
“The fact that we have got quite a few significant absences is just something we have to work through,” he added.
“We had a very similar scenario last year and it’s fair to say we sort of ground our way through it and we’re kind of doing that at the moment.”

Furthermore Postecoglou wants his team to improve despite all the praises.
“We’ve obviously had a couple of games where we’ve not been great in executing our football, those two games in particular against Palace [a 1-0 defeat] and Ipswich we fell well below what we wanted to do,” he concluded.
“That’s probably again an area we’ve tried to iron out but aside from that, it’s progress in all areas.”
Spurs are seventh in the league standings and have managed to accumulate 20 points in 13 games so far.
