The Top-of-the-table clash in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) ended in a goalless draw as spoils were shared between Remo Stars and Rivers United in Ikenne on Sunday, Afrosport reports.
Aniekeme Okon’s first half acrobatic effort was denied by the cross bar, while Sikiru Alimi put a great opportunity wide just before half-time.
Goalkeeper Bankole Kayode was also instrumental for the Sky-Blue Stars, having to save from Ubong Friday, Timothy Zechariah and Taofeek Otaniyi on a couple of occasions.
Remo Stars maintained top spot on 23 points, while Finidi George-led Rivers United remain second on 22 points after twelve rounds of matches.
At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, Ikorodu City came from behind to edge South West rivals Shooting Stars 2-1.
Two goals from Rivio Ayemwenre in the 59th and 88th minute canceled out Anthony Okachi’s 14th minute opener, while Enyimba forced Abia Warriors to a 1-1 draw in Aba in the oriental derby.
Clinton Jephta opened scoring for the People’s Elephants in the 10th minute, Daniel Adejoh then ensured spoils were shared with an equaliser in the 22nd minute.
In other NPFL games, Emmanuel Ogbole scored twice as Kwara United beat Plateau United 2-0, Sunshine Stars pipped Lobi Stars 1-0 thanks to a beautifully dispatched free kick courtesy Promise Awosanmi, while El-Kanemi Warriors also edged Niger Tornadoes 1-0, Ibrahim Mustapha scoring the only goal.

Champions Enugu Rangers fought hard to beat Bendel Insurance 3-2, Kano Pillars were held to a 2-2 draw by Heartland, Bayelsa United and Katsina United also battled to a 1-1 draw and Akwa United defeated Nasarawa United 1-0.
