Saudi Arabia Football Federation (SAFF) has released a statement stating that it has parted ways with national team coach Roberto Mancini after 14 months following a run of poor results, Afrosport reports
SAFF revealed that it has reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract of the 59-year-old Italian, who signed a lucrative deal until 2027 in August 2023.
The federation’s board expressed gratitude to Mancini for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavours.
During his tenure, he led the team in the Asian Cup 2023 held in Doha in January, where Saudi Arabia was eliminated in the Round of 16.
Mancini oversaw a challenging start to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, securing only one victory against China while facing losses to Japan and draws against Indonesia and Bahrain at home in Jeddah.
The board indicated that an announcement will be made in the coming days after completing the official contractual procedures.
