West Ham United manager Julien Lopetegui has defended Mohammed Kudus despite his slow start to the 2024-25 Premier League season, Afrosport reports.
The Ghana international has only one goal in seven league games this season, which was very different from the previous season when he was actively involved in goals for the Hammers and was the talk of the town.
Lopetegui stated that Kudus is working towards getting back to the form that saw him register 25 competitive goal involvement (18 goals, seven goals) last term.
“He’s a good player and our player and we use him as we feel,” Lopetegui said ahead of West Ham’s visit to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
“He can improve on a lot of things like every player, but he is working hard and has very good commitment every day and we are happy with him for sure.”
Lopetegui was appointed West Ham manager this summer and has guided them to two Premier League wins and draws in seven games which currently sees them sit in 12th place on the log.
